Procrastination

Confessions from the Queen of Procrastination

Procrastination

I’ll admit it—I am the Queen of Procrastination. Crowns, thrones, and all. It’s not something I’m proud of.

Every December, I get giddy buying my next year’s planner. I color-code deadlines, appointments, and goals like a pro. I always intend to stay ahead. But then I look at my list and think, Oh, I still have two more days. And so the cycle begins.

Does this sound like you? If it does, you’re not alone. I know I’m not.

Procrastination isn’t just about pushing tasks. It’s also about what we give up in the process.

When I delay, here’s what happens:

  • I feel anxious with a looming to-do list.
  • I lose sleep finishing something last-minute.
  • I miss out on doing things I enjoy.
  • I feel disappointed in myself afterward.
Procrastination

The funny thing is, I know how good it feels to stay on task. When I fight the urge to delay, I feel a shift.

Here’s what happens when I stay focused:

  • I finish projects early and stress less.
  • I get more free time to relax.
  • I sleep better knowing I’m not behind.
  • I feel proud of my follow-through.

Planning still helps me—even if I fall off track. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about trying again.

If you’re like me, you’re probably juggling a lot. Give yourself some grace and find ways to stay on top of things.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a few things I’ve been meaning to finish… for the past three days. Let’s be real—being the Queen of Procrastination is exhausting. Maybe it’s time to retire the crown.
