The InkBlossom Story: We Lost Time Trying To Be Perfect
I still remember the hours Candy and I spent sitting at the table, coffee cups in hand, scribbling ideas into notebooks and bouncing names off each other like we were naming a child. We wanted it to be meaningful, to feel right. It had to say who we were, what we believed in, and carry the weight of all the dreams we had tucked away for years.
We circled around “InkBlossom” for months—months. Debating fonts, colors, logo sketches, the “feel” of it all. We wanted perfection. Or at least what we thought perfection looked like back then. What we didn’t realize in those early days is how much time we were losing while we waited to feel “ready.”
Chasing Perfection, But at What Cost?
And it wasn’t just the name or the logo. We poured ourselves into building the brand but hesitated to show up for it. We’d spend hours helping clients grow their businesses, confidently mapping out content strategies, boosting engagement, and celebrating their wins. Yet when it came to our own platforms, we froze. We overthought. We waited.
Looking back now, I see how much of that hesitation came from fear—fear of being seen before everything was polished. Fear of not being taken seriously. We respected our clients and their dreams, but we didn’t extend that same grace to ourselves. We didn’t give ourselves permission to be a work in progress.
The truth is, you don’t have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to start.
Since then, we’ve let go of chasing perfection and embraced momentum. We still believe in quality and intention, but we no longer wait for the stars to align before taking the next step. We share our story as it unfolds, knowing someone out there might need to hear that messy beginnings are still beginnings.
InkBlossom was never about getting it all right the first time. It was always about growing together, with heart, and a little ink on our hands.
If you’re waiting to feel ready, friend, here’s your nudge: start anyway. You can always refine the details later.
